Marcus began his copywriting career in Edmonton after finishing a BA double-majoring in English and film studies at the University of Alberta. In early 2020, he moved up North to Yellowknife and took on a copywriter position with Outcrop. Since then, he’s been involved with crafting compelling content for tourism, government and industry clients across the three territories.
When approaching copywriting, Marcus imagines real people and tries to figure out their needs and struggles. He believes that it’s important to feel how the audience feels and know what they actually want — what’s important to this person when they are reacting to the world around them? That’s how he writes content that resonates and captures attention.
In his free time, Marcus scratches his creative itch with scale model painting and by writing D&D campaigns. He relishes the opportunity to see other creatives’ work, which he feels inspires him to start new projects that push his limits.
